On Sunday October 9, 2011, The New Windsor Soccer Club participated in the 6th Annual Harvest Challenge Cup hosted by Washingtonville Soccer Club. The games were played at Washingtonville‘s Shaw Road Fields. The two teams representing the New Windsor Soccer Club in the tournament were the New Windsor Azules (BU12 division) and New Windsor Cosmos (BU10 division). The New Windsor Azules dominated their division posting a perfect record in route to claiming the BU12 championship. The NW Azules showed a beautiful, fundamental and efficient soccer style and proved that they are able to meet challenges against tough opponents. The Club commends the efforts of the team and congratulates them on their well-deserved victory. Results of the games are as follows:
The New Windsor Cosmos posted a record of 3 Wins and 1 Loss. After losing the first game of the day in the group phase of the tournament, the team rebounded to win the rest of their games. The NW Cosmos demonstrated great fortitude and tenacity while playing above their normal age/division level (boys under 9) in the tournament. Great Job. Results of the games are as follows:
